Silver obols of Athena Alkidemos type are sort of mysterious strikes. Although we can find relatively often many varieties of these coins in coin auctions, we still don’t know the origin of these coins. It is evidently that these coins originated in pre-oppidum period and most probably in the area of current western Slovakia.
